Regular attendance helps children settle, build friendships, and make the most of their learning. This policy explains our expectations around attendance and punctuality, and how we support families to achieve them.
Why Attendance Matters
Even in the early years, consistency matters. Children who attend regularly settle more easily, form stronger bonds, and build confidence and routine. Frequent absences can make it harder for a child to feel secure.
School Hours
Our school day has clear start and finish times, provided to every family at enrolment. Arriving on time helps your child begin the day calmly, without missing the important settling routines and morning activities.
Reporting an Absence
If your child will be absent, please let us know as early as possible β by phone, WhatsApp, or through the Parent Portal. Knowing the reason helps us care for your child and, where illness is involved, protect others.
Punctuality
We gently encourage on-time arrival and collection. Late arrival can be unsettling for a child joining a class already in flow, and late collection can cause worry. If you are running late for pick-up, please call ahead so we can reassure your child.
Supporting Good Attendance
We understand that young children fall ill, and that family life brings the occasional disruption. Where a pattern of absence emerges, we will reach out kindly to understand and to see how we can help β never to judge.
Holidays & Planned Absences
Where possible, we encourage families to plan holidays around school terms. If a planned absence is unavoidable, please let us know in advance so we can support your child's return.
