Our approach to uniform reflects who we are: practical, comfortable, and ready for real childhood. Children at The Chrysalis learn indoors and out, so what they wear should let them move, explore, and get gloriously involved.
Our Approach
We keep uniform simple and sensible. Children should be comfortable, able to move freely, and dressed for both classroom learning and outdoor, hands-on play β including our forest and garden activities.
Everyday Uniform
The school uniform (details provided at enrolment) should be:
- Clean, comfortable, and correctly sized
- Clearly labelled with your child's name
- Suitable for active play and messy, creative activities
Footwear
Children should wear comfortable, closed, secure shoes suitable for running, climbing, and outdoor play. Please avoid open or slippery footwear that could cause trips or falls.
Dressed for the Outdoors
As a school that values forest and outdoor learning, children may get muddy or wet β and that is a sign of a day well spent! We recommend:
- A spare set of clothes kept at school
- Weather-appropriate layers
- Sun protection during hot, sunny periods
Named Belongings
Please label all clothing and personal items clearly with your child's name. This helps us return lost items quickly. The school cannot take responsibility for unlabelled belongings.
Health & Safety
For safety, we ask that children do not wear jewellery (other than small studs where ears are pierced) or bring valuable items to school. Long hair is best tied back for comfort and hygiene during play.
Support for Families
If obtaining uniform presents any difficulty for your family, please speak to us in confidence. No child should ever feel out of place, and we will always find a way to help.
